Melinda Peters, M.D.

Therapies for metabolic conditions
Dr. Melinda Peters is a Medical Biochemical Geneticist and a Clinical Geneticist. Dr. Peters received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed her pediatrics residency and a chief residency year at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA. She then completed her Medical Genetics residency at Stanford Medical Center in Stanford, CA and her Medical Biochemical Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. Prior to returning to Boston Children’s Hospital, Dr. Peters served as a medical officer in the Division of Rare Diseases and Medical Genetics at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Dr. Peters’s clinical interests are primarily organic acidemias, urea cycle disorders and lysosomal disorders.
Dr. Peters’s research interests are in the evaluation of therapies for metabolic conditions through clinical trials and the identification of novel biomarkers capable of correlating with disease progression and response to therapies.
